It should be up for longer than that I think....I'll have to ask Steve where you can find it. ;)

Re: 12:12 - Good night and God bless

Well, I did not get to hear the last ten minutes of the episode because HisKids was apparently having technical problems. They managed to air AIO without any problems, but DGL was a different story. I sure hope (but am not at all hopeful after last week) that the MP3 is up tomorrow. HisKids is absolutely worthless. I guess I'm waiting until Sunday, again and to say that I am unhappy about it is a HUGE understatement.

Re: 12:12 - Good night and God bless

(One warning, I started typing five minutes in.
Prototype? Brodski, your in on it! Aren't you?
There is no Antonio? Well done Bill.
SHE FINALLY MET HER. (I'm am in tears now) Aww...sisters.
He is on it. I'm sure. I can't believe this. Wait! Brodski is pulling the strings! Not Satyr! Yes? No? Man, this is getting good.
Nice Bill, a storm. Oh my goodness!! Right at Peace of Heaven?? Are you kidding me?? Is he going to get shot? Don't go near it John!
Ooo....Sci-Fi mirror door. A bit of a stray from original DGL, but still cool. Whose going to die in this one? YES!! Wait...he's dying? Who? Satyr or Brodski? Oh, Satyr got the heart attack.
NO!! John! Stay there!! Cell phone? Bit weak. He should have claimed to be packing. BRODSKI!!! Playing a Disney death there aren't you? WHAT!! All the major players are dead? That was far to easy, John. Was that for time restraints? I really felt they should have had to pay for their actions. And there wasn't even a word about their eternal punishment, nor any remorse. And I felt that you left them somewhat ambiguous. I hope we find out more next week. Like why were they there in the first place!?! And what did they mean by prototype? Or is this one of those buy the episode things?

Oh...sure...play a normal DGL musical segway.

That ending was great, but sad. You know? I'm trying not to cry now, thinking about next week ending it all. :'(
I'll be dead if I don't give this...you know, there is truly no number that can describe how much I LOVED this. ∞ out of 5.

Re: 12:12 - Good night and God bless

I think I was with Renddslow when listnening, but I did not have the patience to type and listen. I kept saying in my head, 'But what about Tiffany? What is going to happen to her? is she going off to be in a spin-off series of 'What Tiffany Did Next'. I rejoiced in the scene between Monica and Grace, reconiliation is the ministry that God has given us all who say we are believers, and what about John Morrison, man of God and man of Action, I thought you guys were going to be super sneaky and allow him to be caught in the crossfire.

It is a good thing to have closure on things, but it is also great to consider what God has in store for us next!

Blessings to you Steve, Lori and the DGL team, I wait in eagerness for 12-13 and the wedding day....oops! we are not supposed know for sure yet, but I think it is all expected.

Keep sweet in the Lord

Re: 12:12 - Good night and God bless

My review is based on the MP3 version. HisKids had technical difficulties on Friday, so I could not listen via HisKids. Thanks to all for having the MP3 available on time this week. I really appreciate that as I am starting to have problems being able to listen via radio.

This episode was totally fantastic!!I loved the interaction between John and Mary and how this episode really tied in with the very first episode of the series, which I still remember listening to for the first time. The scene with Monica asking for forgiveness from Grace was wonderful. You can see how Monica's faith has changed her for the better, something I never thought we would see.

The investigation scenes with John Morrison and Bill Mincer were very suspenseful and very typical of John Fornoff. One aspect I did not like was the fact that they killed off Mr. Satyer and Rev. Brotsky. That just seemed to me like a quick and easy way out. I understand why they did it, Iwith only one episode left they had no choice. I just think it would have been interesting to hear everything they were up to besides Piece/Peace of Heaven. I'm glad that Monica is not going to jail, but I wish we could've heard from Tiffany. I wonder if we will hear from her and Randy now that Piece/Peace of Heaven is no more.

The mirror in the scene with Mr. Sayter and Rev. Brotsky seemed a little unrealistic to me, although I guess anything is possible these days. I loved the ending with John, Mary and the kids and especially the very last scene with Mary, very nicely done. 5/5 stars from me. Only one more episode left, CRY!! I don't know what I'm going to do with no more DGL to look forward to.

Re: 12:12 - Good night and God bless

First time to post here on the blog. I hate to see DGL come to an end-been listening to it almost from the start.

I will probably be the only one that feels this way, but I was kind of disappointed in this episode. To me, it was too much crammed into the one episode-seemed very rushed. I know it had to be wrapped up because its the next to last one. I have really liked the way this season has kept the storyline going from week to week, but looking back maybe the others ones should have moved a little faster or something. If I remember right, Steve said this was one he recommended getting the studio version because a lot had to be cut out due to time constraints so that version might not seem so choppy. Still a good episode-just probably one of my least favorite this season.

Am I the only one that noticed something else with DGL came in two's? Two guys this season die with a heart attack, two people went to Peru in an earlier episode, and two people battled depression in an earlier episode.

Re: 12:12 - Good night and God bless

Oh my goodness!!!! Why does the season have to end!?!?!? I think that the buiding crashing down was a bit much, but i guess that i can make an exception because this was such a great season. Are you making another season?!? Please answer in the podcast!

Re: 12:12 - Good night and God bless

Hi Guys,
I have to admit, this is a day of sorrow for me ;(. I'm really going to miss DGL, and I've really enjoyed listening to it. This morning my mom woke me up for DGL, and I listened to the first 5 minutes of it then fell asleep.. I woke up at the end when John and Mary were sitting on the porch talking, and I was like OMGoodness I MISSED IT!!!! Then it dawned on me that I could listen to it again on Hiskids, so I want to shout out to his kids and thank them for allowing us to listen on their site. Now for my review.. This episode was very action packed and I enjoyed it ALOT! I think my favorite part was when they told who killed Tom, and it was kinda sad too.. I give this 5/5 stars ( no long numbers like last time for Lori's sake.. :P ) Thanks guys for the great series, and I hope you guys come up with something bigger and better to replace DGL.
Love & Prayers,
Katie

Re: 12:12 - Good night and God bless

The show felt a bit all over the place at times, as it had to quickly wrap up the Piece of Heaven saga. Those parts when John got out of his office and investigated the mystery provided for a lot of excitement, but I did feel it was missing that old-fashioned DGL feel (all that action was a bit much for Coleraine--in Odyssey, maybe, but in Coleraine?). It was also very convenient that the two bad guys suddenly died and Monica was exonerated from testifying. I also had trouble visualizing some parts of the show.

It was appropriate that Monica finally asked for forgiveness from Grace for all that she did to hurt her. I'm not sure how it fitted into the rest of the show, but it was good to see Monica as a new believer and to see the possible start of a friendship between Grace and Monica.

My favorite parts of the show were the talks between John and Mary, the family conversation, and the several throwbacks to the first episode. It was nice that Mary remembered Timmy's first day at school and that the episode's theme was change (like in 1-1 "Meet the Morrisons"). Especially memorable was Mary's short prayer at the end, which was very touching and expressed how many fans probably feel about the end of DGL: "It's been a wonderful time and we're so grateful for all the years of getting to know the Morrisons."

4/5--An okay and passable way to end DGL, but not really classic material IMO. I'm glad that it's not the final episode--it had way too much action and not quite enough heart. :-)

Re: 12:12 - Good night and God bless

i hope that you would put thisonthe podcast (please)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I also thought that this episode was a bit much but I can understand why it is one of the last episode of the season. I was so happy when that there was going to be a 13th episode. in the next podcast could do some of your story bible. what kind of cell phone did justin make for Mr. mincer ?? and this is a weird question but, when and who told the morrison's about the accident that happened on gilead lane? please put this on the podcast!!!

Re: 12:12 - Good night and God bless

Wow, quite an episode, some good, some disappointing.

3/5. There was some conclusion, but too much buildup without real justice winning in the end. We discovered that there weren't many good guys left in charge - the attorney general, the coroner, and others were bought, so justice wouldn't have prevailed at the trial. Maybe it's just too realistic and I was hoping for idealism :)

I really liked how they tied back to the very first episode, Brooke remembering her rough first day of high school and Mary bringing out the card that Timmy made. I really liked the scene with Monica & Grace. That was a good closure. The whole mystery part, I'm not sure about. There has been a lot of mystery built up in the past episodes, vague allusions to undercover activity, Monica's bribery, how the Grace's house got condemned without anyone seeing the signs, what Brodsky & Satyr were really doing, what goal they were trying to reach with all the humanistic theology, what was the purpose of the Family Fun Center (that had MAJOR support in the town, even to Mr. Taylor, but we never hear of anyone actually visiting it except for Jessica, and she only at the urging of Beau), what Peace/Piece of Heaven really is, what did Justin know, and what came of Janet's investigation, etc. Piece/Peace of Heaven was much bigger than just Satyr & Brodsky, as it was mentioned more than once the boon to the economy and the many new people who had moved and were trying to move to the area. Also there are unresolved loose ends, what happens to Randy & Tiffany now that Dad is dead, what happens with Mrs. Brodsky, and how involved was she, does this death of the leaders make a change for the followers, like Jessica's parents, does this help Haley's witness to Jessica? Of course, we have relationships like Caleb & Carrie, and Mr. Taylor & Janet Gray. A lot of loose ends. I have a lot of faith in Lori's writing, but this looks like a challenge for even the best writer to tie up in half an hour. Maybe the Season Finale should be an hour episode... :) So, waiting with bated breath for next week! Astound us Lori!!

Re: 12:12 - Good night and God bless

Hmm...a very interesting show with many unexpected happenings and storylines gradually getting wrapped up. But before I say anything else, my review is based on the retail version and everybody MUST GO BUY IT as it is a million times better coming in at just under 33 minutes. The broadcast version does feel a little disconnected and the retail version flows much better and doesn't feel quite as choppy as Steve did say they were 'painful cuts.'

Right from the get go, this felt like a John Fornof episode from the style of dialog and the call from Bill as shock #1 needing to talk immediately. I love that we're seeing how Bill Mincer really is a good guy but was getting blinded and sucked into Peace of Heaven. That is such a spiritual lesson too, that you can get so deep into deceitful things, that the enemy blinds you to the truth and it becomes very difficult to get out.

I loved the plan with John, Bill and Justin to get Bill into Satyrnine and having everything still being broadcast through the cellphone for John to put the pieces together. How weird that they drive around who knows where to think that Malcolm is in some far underground place when it's right under Peace of Heaven!! What a shock and it was so neat John could put the pieces together with the storm cloud and ringing church bells!

It was really angering, really to hear Malcolm and Ivan talking to each other about the ugly practicing of Bill Mincer deceiving them when they are both the ones that should be in jail for murder! Excellent production as I know we were all shocked when the police walked in for the arrest.

I really had to laugh out loud when the building came down by that TTT vehicle. It was really quite a similar situation to a bulldozer but different! LOL ;) It is a shame that both Malcolm and Ivan had to die without Christ but that is the reality with many who rebel Jesus all their life. Funny how they were 'encouraging' one another minutes before everything was a whirlwind and they died.

I really loved the Monica/Grace scene. Some touching, heartfelt, classic DGL and I think they really have the potential to become friends. I know with only one episode left in the season, there is a small chance we'll hear more of a friendship developing but I really hope we do. You could just feel the weight being lifted off of Monica's shoulders when Grace said that she forgave her!

I also really enjoyed all the Morrison scenes including the humour that goes on between John and Mary and the family meals having everyone home and reminiscing about many of the events of 1-1 'Meet the Morrisons'. Really significant to lead up to the finish of a series by thinking back to the beginnings. This could have been the series finale with Mary's prayer wrapping up everything beautifully speaking of all the changes in their family, thanking God for bringing them all together (especially with that family hug :), and asking Him for help for the future and to embrace the futures instead of getting frustrated with them all. Very well written.

4.5/5 An excellent show with much action and a few touching scenes but I must agree with Dave, a tad bit too much like Odyssey for me with all the 'investigation' type stuff and not as much classic DGL material that we've all come to love. Going crazy for next week and am trying to hold back the tears until then. There are so many things that have to happen including hearing from Carrie since we haven't heard from her for three whole shows! I have a strong feeling it has to revolve around the wedding as well as wrapping up loose ends like Jessica and Haley, more Grace, the TAYLORS (since they've been silent all season), all things Morrison and Richters and possibly some closure for Hope (including opening the letter?). I was beginning to wonder if Tiffany left for good (especially with the timely interview on this week's podcast) but wondering if we will hear Randy and her coming back for Reverend Brotzky's funeral or if the episode will focus on something else. Can't believe it's the SERIES finale :'( but am excited for what is in store (with all the deleted scenes in the retail version too) and just what may be next after Gilead. Can't wait for podcast #44 though before the big farewell!! :D

Re: 12:12 - Good night and God bless

YEAH PEACE OF HEAVEN AND SATURNINE ARE DEFEATED though you really should have blown it up. I was really scared for a minute that John had died I was likeNO NOT JOHN TOO. But it's all good now. I am definately getting the uncramped version later. I really liked this episode. I understand it was a little cramped but I thought it was as smooth as it could be. It was really cool with all the spy stuff. And I finally got to hear Brookes' voice again. Well great episode can't wait for next week's

Re: 12:12 - Good night and God bless

I really enjoyed this eppisode, though I do agree with others that the radio version is a bit choppy. However, I'm so glad that quite a few of the loose ends have been wrapped up!

I loved the scenes in which the Morisons were talking about the very first eppisode, and I love Mary's prayer at the end- awesome classic DGL!:) It was also really cool to see Monica visiting Grace and reconciling with her!

I give this eppisode a 4/5- can't wait for next week, but at the same time I don't want next week to come. I will really miss DGL!

Re: 12:12 - Good night and God bless

Hi, just a little point to ask about. You know the scene where Hope asks John to shoot some hoops with her and then he says that he is in the middle of something important but promises her the weekend, but then he turns around and goes off to the diner with Mary at the drop of a hat, do we suppose that Hope was out of earshot and didnt feel a little hurt that John did not give her the time? Or maybe I am thinking too much about a minor thing. What say the rest of you bloggers?

--its not a criticism guys, just a thought okay, my son picked up on this and I gave him an answer.

Re: 12:12 - Good night and God bless

Yes, I also found the ending too abrupt and too many loose ends lying around.

Oh, well. I loved the series as a whole. Looking forward to the reruns so that I can hear those early episodes I didn't hear before as I didn't know about the series till around season 9 or 10.

Re: 12:12 - Good night and God bless

So sad to have the show ending... but very glad this episode was not the last. As it was the episode felt a little rushed and choppy, but I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED all the action. Investigative/ action packed shows happen to be my favorite--so I am glad to see some of that in DGL.

However the fact that the two bad guys both died seemed a little too convenient... and it still felt like there were too many loose ends.

Maybe it was just me, but the Grace/Monica scene seemed out of place in this episode. Don't get me wrong-- found it very touching, and it is good to see Monica now that she is changed.

Favorite part was John figuring out where they were taking Bill and Hope saying she wanted to grow up to become mayor so she could drive that vehicle.

All in all, a pretty great episode-- 4/5 Stars. Looking forward to next week!! (But also very sad that it'll be the last... how could you guys DO that to us??!)

By C on   11/20/2009 12:40 PM

Re: 12:12 - Good night and God bless

I wanted them to blow it up... but this episode still made me happy! I wanted all the bad guys to die, and that's what happened. Now all that's left to happen is Christmas... but I doubt that'll happen.

I can't wait for the next episode.

5/5!! I liked it.

By Anna on   11/20/2009 12:40 PM

Re: 12:12 - Good night and God bless

Hi! I've been following DGL consistently since season 8, but I figured now would be a good time to post to the blog if ever, considering the VERY LAST EPISODE is this week...

I actually stopped keeping track of the episode numbers when I found out this was the last season... I didn't want to have a countdown to the end of DGL :( When Zack said at the end of the episode, "Thanks for taking the journey with us," or something similar, I realized that this was THE LAST EPISODE, and my heart sank... a lot. I had long been anticipating a king of epilogue episode that would wrap up all the loose ends. The complete and utter destruction of POH definitely was NOT what I was expecting! :O And the fact that Saturn and Brodsky died so suddenly... O.o' ... but very epic! :) But back to "the final episode I was expecting," I really wanted all the characters (who are still alive) to be included one way or another. All the Richters except Monica were excluded from this episode, which disappointed me (especially because Maya is one of my FAV characters), while the Taylors were entirely left out.

On the up side, I love how Bill Mincer was developed recently! :D I remember how he was introduced way back in season 9. He introduced himself so nicely to Hope, but during his moments with Tim, things never seemed to work in favor of a good acquaintanceship, which made me wonder what kind of guy Mincer really was. And the whole association with the Brodsky's and Saturn made him seem even shadier. Then when the Richter kids got kidnapped, he revealed that he was working undercover??? First he's a prospective neighbor, then a POH representative, then a go-for for Saturn, now he's a secret agent??? XD I love how he was worked into this episode. Down with POH!!! ... Literally :) way to go Mincer!

So I went through the first half of this week thinking there would be no more DGL... and then I find out there's a 13th episode!!! I hope this is the epilogue episode I've been waiting for. 12-12 wrapped things up a little too hastily for my taste :/ So, being the HUGE DGL fan I am, I've made predictions for some of my favorite characters, some number of years later (slightly modified from Timmy's Christmas vision of the future) ^_^

John and Mary are retired and happy, and John has gone down in history as one of Coleraine's greatest mayors (and he managed to finish constructing "USS Coleraine in a bottle"). Brooke is married to a fellow service-enthusiast with whom she frequently goes on overseas missionary trips, and they have a BIG family (consisting of orphans, friends, converts, and brothers and sisters in Christ). Justin is working in a science field (or on his PhD) and continues to be close to God because of his earlier depression. Mike is married to Maya (because I am a "Mike and Maya" fan; 12-2 supports this! ^_^ ). Haley tried missionary work overseas with Brooke a few times, but a trip to Africa convinced her that this wasn't her thing. She works as a youth counselor, volunteers locally at various shelters, and is a youth leader at her church. Tim followed his "dream" and joined the Air Force, where he currently serves under Uncle Rob. Hope is studying politics in college, determined to become mayor so she can ride the triple-T someday. Monica left Richter Properties to God, and business has actually grown quite well considering everything that happened. Caleb and Carrie, the new patriarch and matriarch of the Richter family, carry on the family business but always remember to tithe and give thanks the God. They have 4 kids: Tom, Bill, Edward, and Abby. Maya developed a love for the theater (thanks to Anna) but pursued a more stable career in engineering. She writes religious plays on the side, a hobby her hubby fails to comprehend. Tiffany and Randy have just returned to Coleraine, married with 3 daughters. After visiting the old site of POH and seeing her childhood home, Tiffany feels a deep urge in her heart. Grace still lives at the end of Gilead Lane, writing books and continuing to be a mentor and guide for those in need, especially to the new generation of Coleraine kids. Taylor General Store has grown considerably and is currently opening a 4th branch in a nearby town.

Ok, there's my ramble. Can't wait to here the final episode of DGL... ever!!! :D

By Jessica on   11/20/2009 12:40 PM

Re: 12:12 - Good night and God bless

I agree with a few other commemters (Dave and DanielR), for me this episode had a bit to much action - well at least for Coleraine, anyway. It was also very fast paced, which meant that it was quite difficult to follow at times. The death of Rev. Brotsky and the other guy (forgot his name) was a bit sudden (BTW, what kind of a Rev. was Mr Brotsky???!) I did really enjoy the bits wit the Morrisons though, so its 3 out of 5 from me.

It’s Spring Break, and the Morrisons are headed to Washington, D.C. They’re all super excited about the things they’ll get to see and do there—all of them, that is, except Brooke. She thinks it’s selfish of them to go on a fun-filled vacation when other people are giving their week to serve on a mission field.

But wait a minute, Brooke. Aren’t we supposed to be missionaries wherever we go?

Brooke had a change of heart when she and her family have a surprising encounter on the plane to D.C.
