Re: 12-11.....ALREADY?
Oh my goodness, can you guys add about 20 more episodes to this season? I don't know what I'll do when gilead lane ends.. I used to listen to AIO, but got bored with it since they started the passages series. I've been listening to DGL for probably.. since close to the beginning.. I just recently started getting really interested.. well anyway, for my review of the most recent episode ( which one.. cant remember.. ) This episode recieves.. um... 999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999 billion stars, it was GREAT! If I'm reviewing the correct episode ( I think I am.. ) I almost cried when Maya was talking about her dad not being able to walk her down the aisle. I have short term memory issues, so I won't be able to review more, unless I listen to it again. ( haha ) Thanks for the great episodes to all the writers!!! Love the podcast, BTW!!!! Katie~Lynn

Re: 12-11.....ALREADY?
(Sorry mine is so late, but the link on home page was broken, so I had to wait till 9:30 on WDAC to listen to it)
I liked this episode a lot. I was so glad to hear from the Morrisons again, but you were still able to fit the Richter's in. I loved what Mya said to Tiffany about loving her. I liked that we got to see more of Tiffany's character again. It seemed for awhile that she was just the whiner, but we got to see her true side again. I'm surprised, to say the least, that Tiffany is leaving the country, just like that. I'm will be amazed if you can fit everything in 12-12. Or...are you going to do an extra episode like you did in season 1? Hmm...that'd be cool. Anyway, I personally felt this one was just ok, kinda filler in between 12-10 and 12-11. The only real movement in story was Tiffany leaving. But I suppose I'll give this one....3 out of 5 stars.

Re: 12-11.....ALREADY?
I'm surprised at Renddslow's evaluation of this episode as simply "filler." Though "Saving Messages" might not be the most action-packed show of S12, on first listen I thought it was one of the best shows this season and perhaps even one of the best of the whole series.
I loved the concept of Tiffany having eight voice messages from her Dad that she didn't want to listen to. It created a little suspense and allowed for some really touching moments when she listened to them. It also meant that there was a battle of sorts between Tom Richter and Randy Brotski for Tiffany's attention. I was intently listening to see what would happen with Tiffany, especially after the disturbing turn of events with the Brotski's suggesting sending Tiff overseas with Randy. And, wow, that was some ending! I was so upset at Tiffany's decision that I didn't hear Zach's comments at all!
With an episode title like "Saving Messages" and with all the pressure on Tiffany from Caleb, Monica, and Maya, I was wondering if DGL might go the cliched route of making Tiffany have a sudden change of heart. I was glad, in a way, that there wasn't a happy ending--Tiffany rejected her family and their wisdom about salvation. Even when Tom spoke from the grave (in a sense), she deleted what he had to say and disappointed her Father yet again. Some people, especially those in a similar situation as Tiffany, will never accept Christ and will run from Him all their life, so I liked that Tiffany, who has always been a person focused on herself, did flee. I liked it not because it was the right thing to do or because it made me feel happy, but because it was a realistic depiction of many young people who are not at all open to a relationship with God.
Although the emphasis of 12-11 was definitely on the Richters, I was happy that the Morrison family wasn't left out, either. John and Mary interacting with one another was really nice. We heard from some of the other kids briefly, and of course Justin and Brooke are coming back for the last DGL episode! It's hard to believe that in a little less than a week the very last DGL show will be airing. I'm curious as to what will happen (I'm guessing it will have something to do with the court trial), and how the series finale can tie up everything and give fans one last look at their favorite characters.
4/5--Big kudos to the DGL team for creating an excellent show which was pretty close to perfect--it held my attention completely and I couldn't think of one thing which I didn't like about it. :-o

Re: 12-11.....ALREADY?
Wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is an amazing episode good job steve and Lori. Is Tiffny ever going to come back?? I really liked that we got to hear Tom's voice one more time. Did Lori write this or did John Fournoff write it either way it was really awesome. If Lori wrote this episode good job 5.5/5 you now how to make the most touching stories and your an amazing writer. If John Fournoff did it good job for him too 5.5/5. This guy knew how to make the most stories since the beginning of the show. He must have experienced most of these episodes to make it so realistic. Oh and the episode 55/5.

Re: 12-11.....ALREADY?
I really hate that Randy had to step in jest as things started to turn around. My family listens to DGL as soon as possible every week. Dad says that Randy was wrong to say that Tiffany is 18 so she can do what she wants. YOU MUST STILL OBEY YOUR PARENTS UNTIL YOU GET MARRIED!
What do I look under to find CBH Ministries on Facebook? I have tried looking under 'cbh ministries' and all I get is all of you from CBH Ministries like 'Uncle Charley' and Steve O'Dell.

Re: 12-11.....ALREADY?
I did not get to hear the episode on Friday because I was out with family and the online HisKids player was broken. So, I only got to hear the episode this morning, tried last night and for some unexplained reason HisKids did not run it. I was hoping that the MP3 would be available on Saturday morning, but it was not. Could someone please explain why the MP3 availability continues to be so horrible? One week they are available on Saturday and then the next week we are waiting until Monday again. With only two, now one episode left I was hoping that availability would be better not worse. This episode lacked the excitement of past episodes and the story line did not go anywhere. We are not learning anything new about Peace/Piece of Heaven. Anyway, I give this episode 3/5 stars.

'Saving Messages' and Podcast
Well, as usual, my thoughts on the podcast first, and then the episode.
Excellent podcast as always! Loved the opening sequence with the personal Steve/Lori discussion before jumping into the official segments of the podcast. All the listener audio was cool as was having both the brainstorming session clips and bloopers in one installment! Love the weekly idea and look forward to them every week now as it is when I have my laugh attack! :)
And now for 12-11...again, another stellar show this season! I have to agree with the many already here that really appreciated the many aspects of this show and respectfully disagree with the few who have stated that this show was just okay. Agreeing with Dave on many counts, there were some really powerful elements to the lesson and story, and much of the acting was extremely well done.
When I first heard the title 'Saving Messages' a few weeks back, I immediately thought of someone coming to Christ in this episode as in the saving or transforming messages of Christ. However, I soon caught on to the saving as in keeping part of the title relating to the voicemail.
The open really helped to introduce the main storyline of the show and got us disgusted as always (a good thing) at the corny romance and conversations of Tiffany and Randy.
I really liked the scenes with John and Mary and found it very interesting that he is still investigating into Tom's death, since that had been ignored for the last few weeks. We've heard a lot more of their relationship and interactions with each other this season than in a while, and they are always very humourously and tenderly written.
I almost screamed, "YES!" when I heard Jessica in the scene with Haley and Maya since I don't think we have heard from her since 12-4. However, I was soon disappointed that it wasn't in the context of her inquiring more about Christ and am hoping that storyline hasn't been forgotten, since it would be awesome once again to see the planting seeds in one's heart to turn into accepting Jesus.
I'm really enjoying the fact that we're hearing certain tones of conversations this season in the episodes that we haven't heard before. This included seeing the brother/sister relationship of Caleb and Tiffany and her almost opening up to him. However, I found myself almost having to stop and shake my head in disbelief at the sweet, loving, compassionate words that were flowing out of Monica's heart with still being such a 'baby' Christian. The scene where she is trying to explain to Tiffany that Tom was right and her thankfulness to God is one of my favourite scenes in the history of DGL. Very moving. I hope we do get to hear Monica with another chance to explain her transformation to Tiffany. And Maya's short scene with her was unexpected to Tiffany and a perfect reminder to us to be showing God's love to people firsthand by acting in that manner ourselves. As the saying goes, 'they won't care how much you know until they know how much you care." A simple, yet profound reminder that I believe we need to keep reminding ourselves of.
Forgot to mention a few weeks ago with the 'mailbox full', but definitely have to this week with all of the voicemail stuff a shout-out to Steve for another excellent job played as the 'operator'!! I don't think there's a role you can't do and I enjoy being able to pick you out sometimes in great disguise! I found it interesting how Tiffany started listening to Tom's messages quite a few times and either walked away herself or was interrupted numerous times. He was trying to show her agape love but she is so restless that she doesn't know how to accept it and kept running. I completely agree with Dave, as much as it isn't heartwarming for us listeners to hear, it is a very realistic representation of many in our world today that do whatever they can to run all their life from God but he still doesn't quite pursuing them. I'm really beginning to wonder if Tiffany will become a Christian with only one week left in this incredible series even though that would seem like a piece of the perfect ending. I think that until she gets the Brotskys out of her life that won't be happening as they are a horrible 'all about me' influence on her. Mrs. Brotzky seems like such a great Mom in how she is so loving in baking cinnamon rolls and such but yet is coated with all of the Peace of Heaven theology.
The episode really did build to a climatic ending with Monica really trying to be a godly mother. Randy sure knows nothing about respect as this is utter and complete disrespect to strip Monica of all her authority because her daughter is over 18 and I would even go one step further than Courtney to say that, even after marriage, children should still respect and obey their parents after their married to be a good example to their children and also because they are still in seniority. I am curious to knowing what Monica will say and do once she finds out they left the COUNTRY, which Randy did not allude to at all. I think (and hope) that something will go terribly wrong as 'companions leading the young generation' as the Brotskys put it and Tiffany and Randy will have a big fight and part ways with Tiffany maybe actually coming to her senses and finding true freedom in the Lord.
5/5 stars, Lori!! A beautifully written program weaving everything together very well. "Good Night and God Bless" sounds very final put I can't quite put finger on how that will actually tie into the episode. We do know that Brooke and Justin are coming home and we've got to hear from Carrie next week since we didn't at all this week and only a couple sentences last week! We have to send Randy off to some fantasy land where he and his parents can have the world to 'fly free' that they envision while Tiffany come back home, along with a fitting wrap-up from Grace for all she has contributed to the people of Coleraine and maybe something in the court room! The possibilities are endless and I can't stand thinking about that 12-12 is upon us next week and our beloved Gilead will come to a close. Until then, podcast #43... :D

Re: 12-11.....ALREADY?
WOW. I just don't get where you're going with this. There's one episode left and it seems like there's so much to wrap up! I liked this eiposde a lot. I think it was better than the last one. At least it didn't give me any scary dreams. 5/5 stars!
You know, if Tiffany's plane crashes she can't become a Christian. I can't believe she actually left though. It's so weird to throw in a sudden twist this close to the end of the season.
Good job on this episode!

Only one more episode to go...=(
I have listened to almost every season of DGL and enjoyed them very much but this is my very first posting. This past episode really brought many things together. We see the Ritcher’s finally coming together as a family and seeing what its like to be living like a Christian. Tiffany reminds me of someone that is caught in between living in the “world” and following the Christian “life”. She doesn’t know what to pick and is very confused. So running away from her problems seems to be the only answer. Then we see the John and Mary discussing the suspicious death of Tom. There were two statements that really stood out to me “Maybe its not up to you to solve this big case but to help put the pieces together for someone else” and “It’s amazing how God opens up doors when we least expect it”. I think this one thing we will see more about in the last episode and its seems to be the theme for this season in my opinion. I give this episode 5/5 stars. My favorite episode of all time is “Putting the Christmas Back in Hope”.

Re: 12-11.....ALREADY?
I enjoyed this eppisode and have listened to it several times in the last week.
It is interesting to see Tiffany wrestling with what to do. It reminds me of just before Caleb became a Christian in season 6. He wrestled and rebelled, but he ran to Christ and not away from Him. However, Tiffany has chosen to run away. I was thinking that perhaps Tiffany and Randy are going to Peru, and Tiffany will run into Brooke there and may be will be brought to her senses and come to Christ, but there is not enough time left to develop such a storyline.
I loved the parts with Tom's voicemail message. Intended or not, I saw a kind of metaphor in that. Tiffany listens to more and more of her father's message, but in the end, deletes it and runs away. She listens to the message of God, but in the end, runs away. It was cool to see her family's love for her, and I liked Maya's conversation with Tiffany. Maya tries to respect and love her, even though she doesn't agree with what she is doing.
Questions remain- what exactly happened to Tom? What happens with the trial? What about Jessica? Will Tiffany end up becoming a Christian? So much to wrap up!
Great show-- 5/5!

Re: 12-11.....ALREADY?
ok this was a really surprising episode. I really was expecting at least a LITTLE conclusion but I guess I should know that you are going to end the season with a HUGE EXCITING AMAZING OUTSTANDING WHAT!!!! SHOCKING BOOM episode. Well I can wait one more week for peace of heaven to blow up. Ok so the episode. It was interesting to hear Monica trying to convince Tiffany that God loves her. I feel bad for her she is such a new christian she just doesn't know how to go about it. That conversation between Maya and Tiffany was so sweet. I love how Lori always writes the romantic and sweet and touching episodes and John Fornoff writes the ACTION EXCITEMENT episodes. I was really surprised to hear Tiffany delete Tom. I thought she was going to break down in the airport and go home. But she went through with it. Great Job as usual guys. I can't wait for next week but it is a bittersweet I can't wait.

Re: 12-11.....ALREADY?
i really enjoyed this episode, although it seemed a bit strange mainly focusing on Tiffany when its the second-from-last episode of the entire series. (Sigh) However, it really left me exited about the next, and last:( episode, what will happen with Tiffany, weather she will get saved, ect. In some ways, it might be more realistic it she dosen't get saved, if she did it might be abit, well, like everyones-getting-saved-in-a-rush- because-the-shows-finishing! I can understand Tiffanys frustration with her family, though, especially at the change in her Mom, and it must be so difficult for Monica, who once scorned all things christian, to try and reach out to her daughter and talk with her about God. It loved the bit where Maya said about loving Tiffany the right way or something like that. I guess considering Tiffanys previous moaning and general 'annoyingness' I do feel abit like 'fine, then, let her go-she deserves it, as I got quite annoyed with Tiffany (and of course, Randy) for being so disrespectful of Monica. Also, who got to write episode 12-12, what a HUGE responsibility!

Re: 12-11.....ALREADY?
Steve and Lori mentioned that John Fornof wrote 12-12 "Good Night and God Bless" and Lori Twichell wrote 12-13 "And So It Goes." So they both get a shot at ending the season, I guess.
A few people above mentioned that we should hear from Tiffany again...I don't think that'll be the case, as Tiff made her choice and it seems like she'll be away from the country for a long time. She's played her role, and I think it's safe to say she's gone for good (or for bad, depending on how you look at it) from DGL. Plus, there's too much other stuff to cover in the next two episodes to bother with the unrepentant bad guy of DGL, IMO.

Dave's correct about who wrote what. I had a great explanation typed here and heard Steve in my head yelling that it was too much - so erased it. Wow. Steve's in my head at five am. That's a little scary.

It’s Spring Break, and the Morrisons are headed to Washington, D.C. They’re all super excited about the things they’ll get to see and do there—all of them, that is, except Brooke. She thinks it’s selfish of them to go on a fun-filled vacation when other people are giving their week to serve on a mission field.
But wait a minute, Brooke. Aren’t we supposed to be missionaries wherever we go?
Brooke had a change of heart when she and her family have a surprising encounter on the plane to D.C.
