Oh, the Joy...

So, our audio editing system (Fairlight) has been a real stable, rock-solid platform for producing Gilead almost since the beginning of the series back in 2001.  But (as computer systems go), she's getting kinda old, and this season has been riddled with crashes and system failures such as we have never seen since we began.  Our plan was to try to limp along through Season 9 until we had a little down time to address the problems and get some much needed upgrades.  But, oh yeah, we're producing 2 holiday specials this year...

No problem, what harm could come from trying to do just 2 more shows?  Well, because of having to nurse Fairlight so much, we've been seriously delayed on getting the Thanksgiving special done, BUT I am happy to report that it was completed yesterday and is on it's way out the door to stations today!  (none too soon as it airs the 24th!!).  The Christmas special slated to air the weekend of December 22, is well on it's way--just pray that we don't have the technical issues with it that we had with Thanksgiving.  THEN, assuming we have the luxury of a couple weeks before we start recording Season 10, we will get the parts and software needed for the Fairlight upgrade installed!

Lot's of "ifs", I know.  Please pray for us.  We are shooting for an on-air launch of Season 10 the weekend of March 29, 2008 (that's one week after Easter for those of you playing along at home).

P.S.  How about some titles, eh?  The title of this year's Thanksgiving special is, Table Talk; and the title of this year's Christmas special is, Putting the Christmas Back in Hope.  You heard it here first!!
