Two blog posts in a row - everything must be crazy!
By lori on 4/18/2008 1:56 PM

I know I know - two blog posts in two days from Lori. It's almost too much to consider!

I thought you all might be interested in knowing that we had a brainstorming session today. As you may recall, Mr. Fornof and I are currently working on finishing up Season 10 - and this morning we had a discussion of Season 11. Where do we want to go? What do we want to achieve by the end of the season? Where are we looking for future seasons?! Future seasons? Really?!

Well, we came up with a lot of VERY interesting things that I'm sure you're going to enjoy in the season! And that's as Cheesy Teasy as I'm allowed to get before Steve O'Dell gets on a plane and makes a trip to Texas to stop me!!

But I just thought you all might like to know that. It was VERY interesting!

Now - go have a great weekend - and enjoy episode 10:4! That's an order Good Buddy! :)

10-4 Good Buddy!
By lori on 4/17/2008 1:33 PM

Well, we're well and good into the season now and we're getting into a block of "Lori Episodes"! I didn't realize as I was writing that so many of my episodes were going to be right in the middle of this season all bunched together!

10-4 Good Buddy, as you know from the Funcast, is a play on the fact that it's episode four of season 10. I took the challenge to do an episode on friendship. And if you've listened to the Funcast, you also know that Marcy's going to be making an appearance in this episode. But we're not going to visit Brooke at college - we're going somewhere else!

Next weekend "Sandcastles in Storms" airs and I've got to say, that one and the other half of it, "Is God in Pittsburgh" were two of the most difficult episodes that I've ever written for DGL! They were a lot of fun because, as you may or may not know, I grew up just a little ways north of Pittsburgh and I love Pittsburgh! It's one of ...

Hey - I survived NRB!
By lori on 3/14/2008 12:08 PM

I just wanted to drop a quick line to everyone and let you know that Steve and I are back from NRB. He's back in good old MI and I'm back in San Antonio. The time together was fun - it was fantastic seeing Kelli and getting to actually be in the same room together, but if anything, it showed us that no matter how far apart we are, God's got us working solidly together for a purpose. We met many people at NRB who were surprised that Down Gilead Lane and the podcast come together so smoothly with our 'staff' so far apart - Mr. Fornof in CO and Mrs. Ritchie and Steve-O in MI and myself in San Antonio. A few people were convinced that we really were all in the same building because everything comes together so great! Just goes to show that when you're working with God's purpose in mind, the distance doesn't matter.

We did have a great time and we're working now on when we'll be able to have a podcast for the upcoming S10. It's going to be a fantastic season. I'm very excited about thi ...

Valentines, Podcast, Pittsburgh!
By lori on 2/18/2008 10:04 AM

Hello all you fans of Down Gilead Lane! It's nice to see you all! :)

As you  may know, a lot of new things have been happening with DGL. We got our recording system up and running (as evidenced in some part by the Valentine's Special hitting the airwaves!) and we're hard at work on Season 10 right now. I'll get to more of that in a few minutes!

Steve and I did record a quick podcast last week and I think his goal is to have it up this week sometime. We did  a little review of the Valentine's Special and teased some great things that we have coming up - so keep your eyes open for that to hit the Internet sometime within the next day or two.

Our whole team has been working really hard on season 10 lately. With our recording issues and the problems there, we've had to work and push hard to get things moving, but the writing has been steadily pushing forward. About a week ago, I finished two episodes that I'm really excited abo ...

Merry Christmas all you DGL'ers!!!
By lori on 12/26/2007 11:47 AM

I hope that all the fans of DGL far and wide around the world had a wonderful blessed Christmas day and that a Happy New Year is just around the corner!

As many of you noticed, "Putting the Hope Back in Christmas" has aired now and answered many burning questions. (Smell the smoke in the air?!) Sugar cookies were the winners on the poll and of course the beloved winter staple, COCOA won out as well!

We also had the premiere of our new actor who is playing Justin Morrison. Steve will be able to tell you more about him (and some very cool facts) in the future and I think we're also going to be featuring him on a podcast coming up soon, so keep your ears open on that.

Now for another burning question that I just must answer - the translation of the BIble used for the verses in the special. If, indeed Dave (from the messageboards) is correct and it was New Living Translation, then it was an error on my part. I go to Biblegatewa ...

Episode S:11 - Christmas Heirlooms

It’s that time of year again—CHRISTMAS!  But what makes this season so special? Is it the presents, the traditions, the busyness, or is it…something else? When an unexpected event enters the Morrisons’ lives, and turns everything upside down, they begin asking the question, “What’s Christmas really all about?” When all that’s left is Jesus, is He enough?
